01 — THE STORY
THE CHEDDAR STORY
Volume 1, full sleeve: back, spine and front
Cheddar came out of Boston. Albie "Cheddar" Montgomery built it as a DVD magazine: car shows, awards weekends, club nights and sit-down interviews, cut together and sold on disc.
Volume 1, directed by Montgomery, runs from the Power 105, Dub Magazine and Funkmaster Flex car shows to Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Summit in Boston and the Atlanta club scene, with Lloyd Banks, Loon and Petey Pablo along the way. Volume 2 opens with Suge Knight. Volume 5 has Slim Thug answering Lil Flip, Pimp C after his release, and what the disc bills as the last interview with Justo Faison. The Ozone Weekend special went to Miami for the Ozone Awards. By Volume 13 the main story was French Montana.
Boston stayed in the mix the whole way. Local names like Chill Will sit on the same discs as the headliners, and the city's own scene gets its time next to New York, Atlanta and Houston.
